We stored our possessions in a locker - no phones allowed inside the Maze - and headed through to a briefing room where we were given Covid instructions (which were well-adhered-to and made the experience feel very secure) and asked to sign a waiver. We were greeted by a friendly front desk assistant, who asked us to sign in with the NHS Test and Trace app, before being escorted upstairs to an air-conditioned waiting room. The central location of the Maze made it super easy to find, among the hustle and bustle of a recently-reopened West End. So off I went, with three fellow MyLondon journalists, to see if we could crack the Crystal Maze without having a major argument. Lockdown easing and London's reopening means there's no better time to be a tourist in our own city.Īs a Londoner, I probably would never have thought of heading to tourist-central Shaftesbury Avenue to try out the Crystal Maze Live Experience, but there's something about the taste of freedom that just makes me want to try every single slice of fun the city has to offer.
